Booked Out, Burned Out, and Still Broke? It's Probably Your Branding

Wix recently released WebMCP, a new feature that allows compatible AI assistants to interact with Wix websites through structured tools.

That means an AI assistant might actually be able to help a visitor find a service, check business info, look for an appointment, search products or add items to a cart without requiring the visitor to manually click through EVERY page.

A few important clarifications...

👉🏼 This is NOT an AI chatbot automatically added to the website.
👉🏼 It doesn't give AI access to private customer or dashboard information.
👉🏼 The customer still completes their own purchase or booking.
👉🏼 It is still early technology with limited compatibility.
👉🏼 It doesn't guarantee better Google rankings or more AI recommendations.

What I love most is that Wix is building this capability at the platform level. Small businesses shouldn’t need a custom development team to prepare for every new way people might interact with the internet.

It also reinforces something I already tell my clients: clear and accurate website content MATTERS.

Your services, products, prices, business hours, policies and booking information need to make sense to humans first. Now, that clarity may also help the AI tools assisting those humans!

I’ll be testing this before I actually begin recommending it for live client websites, but it is absolutely a Wix update worth watching!

A little overdue for a spot on the feed: The Platinum Collective Salon. 🖤

Olivia came to me in 2024 ready to build a website for her salon in West Asheville. At the time, the salon's online presence lived entirely on Instagram, & she wanted somewhere people could explore the salon, get to know her team, and shop their products in one place.

We created a beautiful, custom website that carries the salon’s modern, luxe aesthetic into the online experience, with a clean layout, moody details, and plenty of room for their stunning work.

The site introduces each stylist & their specialties, highlights the salon’s custom color and extension services, and helps new clients understand what to expect before reaching out for a consult. We also built an online shop for salon products available to purchase for local pickup.

Alongside all of that, there’s space for Olivia’s story, the salon’s values, and the amount of care that goes into the experience she’s created.

And today her website ranks on the first page of Google for several sought-after local keywords related to her services, including hair extensions.

So people searching for those services in the Asheville area have another way to discover Olivia and her team. ✨

Choosing a salon is deeply personal. You want to love the work, feel comfortable with the person doing it, and know you’re in good hands. That’s what we wanted the website to help people get a feel for before they ever walked through the door.

Go meet Olivia and her team at @theplatinumcollectivesalon and take a peek at platinumcollectivesalon.com. 🤍
